Amazing talent with little help from Lady Luck

The final season for the current year 10’s started off extremely well with a great result against Ashburton; winning by 4 wickets in the league.  This was followed by another victory against St Andrew’s in the Cup which made a great start to the season.  In the next round we came up against a strong but by no means superior Haling Manor side. They beat us on the day not in the quality of skills delivered but in the way they worked as a team.

With 4 weeks of the season remaining our fixture list took a major blow with 3 teams reporting they could no longer play their fixture against us and so we were awarded automatic wins.

Only victory now against St Joseph’s stood in the way of us becoming league champions. But on the day of the fixture luck was against us as bad weather led to the match being cancelled. In agreeing a draw against St Joseph’s, Lady Luck took her final blow as we lost the championship on the amount of runs scored and finished second place.
