Y9 girls' netball - Spring2

The year 9 team had another very successful year in the Croydon Netball League.
They won five of their six matches and lost one:

Won v St Andrew’s 10-4
Won v Harris Crystal Palace 7-3
Won v Woodcote 9-2
Won v Edenham 11-10
Won v Selsdon 15-13
Lost v Old Palace 8-11

These results placed us second in division two which means we get promoted to the top division next year.

The girls also reached the quarter finals of the Croydon schools netball tournament and narrowly missed going through to the semi finals. They played extremely well throughout the whole tournament and were very unlucky to concede a last minute goal against Riddlesdown.

Captain Shanice Kpobie-Charles led her team by example playing some of the best netball with her defensive partner Francine Agyemang.  Shanice took a few hard knocks and tumbles on the court while trying to keep the ball out of our goal and didn’t let injury interrupt her playing.

I would like to say well done and big thank you to all the girls in the team.  They are a pleasure to take for training and matches. I hope they all keep up their commitment to netball next year and let’s hope we make a big impact on the top division in September 2009.
