The year 8 girls’ basketball team has been very committed this year and their hard work in training is starting to pay off.
Although we are still waiting for our first win of the season the girls have not given up and are improving game by game. We have been scoring more baskets in each match and lost our last game against Harris South Norwood by six points our closest game yet!
We have had a few additions to the team this year which, given time, will strengthen the squad and help us to get that victory.
Captains, Tamara Reid and Annika Davda, have led their team strongly never missing a training session and always encouraging their team on the court.
The girls have been a pleasure to take for training and matches and should be congratulated on their commitment.
I hope that the girls’ hard work will be rewarded and we may get our first win of the season on Thursday 26th March in the Croydon Schools Basketball Cup against Harris Crystal Palace.
