Dear Parents

English GCSE mock examination

In order to enhance year 11 pupils’ examination prospects there will be an additional English GCSE mock examination.

The purpose of the examination is to allow pupils to practise for English Paper 2.  It was not appropriate to include this particular paper during the period of the mock examinations in January.

It is vital that all pupils attend for these practice examinations at the appointed times as this will allow teachers to prepare any specific supporting work after the Easter break.

The timings of the examinations are as follows:

  • Block A Monday 30 March 1.15pm to 2.45pm Main hall
  • Block B Tuesday 31 March 1.15pm to 2.45pm Main hall

No other GCSE subject teaching time is lost as a result of these arrangements.

I know I can count on your full support in ensuring that your son/daughter not only attends the examinations but is also properly prepared.

Yours sincerely

D C Clark, Headteacher
