A sports council has been introduced to help pupils achieve in sport. Their objective is for pupils to be fit and healthy and would be available for after school clubs.
Mr J Clark has taken over the recycling issue from Ms Bacon who left earlier this year. He spoke to the council about the school being environmentally friendly and listened to school council ideas about paper recycling.
The school council are going to get in contact with Croydon to order bins for each classroom.
Ms McCarthy talked to the council about Safer Neighbourhood Scheme and asked for suggestions from pupils - please see Raviendran or Jermaine.
Some council members suggestions:
- there should be police rangers patrolling the local parks in the borough
- improve the canteen food by having pizzas with different toppings
- more benches for pupils to use at break times
- more homework rooms for pupils
- a skateboard ramp
- summer dresses for girls like those in primary school (no ties and blazers)
Update
- Jermaine has been in touch with the council who have agreed to provide bins for classroom
- Mr Clark has agreed to have more homework rooms
- skateboard ramp to be considered but as a club activity
