Adjustment to term dates for 2011-2012

The term dates for the current school year (2011-2012) were published before the determination that teachers should teach 194 rather than 195 days in consequence of the additional Bank Holiday for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
The date of the Bank Holiday for the Jubilee falls within the summer half term break so the additional closure has to be made at another time.
It has been decided that the “extra” closure will be on Friday 20 July 2012. This will minimise any disruption to the preparation for year 11 GCSE and other public examinations.
