During the past six weeks some Year 9 pupils have been attending the Arsenal Double Club. Just in case you haven’t heard or know anything about the club this is what it does.
Arsenal Double Club is a place where you can develop your Spanish skills e.g. speaking, listening, reading and your vocabulary skills. It was on every Wednesday after school from 2:45 to 4:30. It was spilt into two parts, the first part is where you learned Spanish (all about Arsenal/football) and the second part is where you went outside and played football on the new 3G pitch - that was my favourite part! A few times, we played a match against the French side who were also doing the Arsenal Double Club. It was known as ‘France V Spain’. Normally the French won but we did well. However, we all know who the REAL CHAMPIONS are in real life football, don’t we?
That wasn’t the end. The best bit was still to come!
To celebrate the successful completion of the course there was a trip to the Emirates Stadium but it would have been much better if it was to Old Trafford! I certainly found the course both valuable and enjoyable. I would also like to thank Mrs Lloyd and Mr Atkinson for organizing this wonderful course and also to Mr Sawyer for coming with us to the Emirates Stadium.
I would love to do this next year and hopefully I will.
