As predicted, the outgoing year 11 have secured the school’s best ever GCSE results. 48% of pupils achieved five or more A*-C grades including maths and English which exceeds the previous best by 3%.
The percentage achieving the English Baccalaureate (EBacc) has also risen to 21% which will again place us amongst the top state schools in the country on this new measure.
A particularly pleasing feature of the results is the increase in the proportion of A*, A and B grades which at 37.1% is more than 10% better than last year.
As ever there were some exceptional individual results with Subasini Pakeerathan’s achievement of 9.5A* and 1A grades being the best of the best.
Congratulations and thanks to all those who helped achieve these results. We now have to continue with the task of ensuring year on year improvement for future cohorts of examinees.
