Lanfranc air disaster

As you know, this year sees the fiftieth anniversary of the Lanfranc air disaster.
There are two major commemorative events; a private occasion for the family and friends of those involved in the crash on Tuesday 9 August and a civic service at Croydon Minster on Sunday 14 August.
The anniversary has stimulated significant media interest and the BBC has visited twice to film, firstly for London News and then for “The One Show”. Both programmes are likely to be broadcast on or just before Tuesday 9 August.
Filming for The One Show created some excitement in school as the presenter for this edition of the programme is Larry Lamb, perhaps most famous as the actor who played Archie Mitchell in “EastEnders”.
