The link below is to a publication from the “Russell Group” of universities which includes twenty of the most prestigious universities in the country.

The booklet contains useful information about option choices for both GCSE and post 16 courses and how these are viewed by the universities.

Pupils in year 9 will see that this complements the advice they have already been offered about their choices, while those in years 10 and 11 who are expecting to achieve mostly A*/A grades in their GCSEs should consider the best combinations of subjects for them ahead of 16+ transfer.

Remember that decisions made at 14+ and 16+ should be seen in the light of your ambitions and aspirations at 18+.
