On Monday 30 November, Partnerships for Schools announced that twelve projects had been given the go ahead to rebuild or refurbish secondary schools in their area as part of the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme.

You will be pleased to learn that one of the twelve projects was Croydon and Kingston.  This means that the promise of a new school building on our site draws ever closer to reality.  It is now possible that work will begin in May 2012.

Clearly this is an exciting opportunity to create the kind of school which best matches the needs of the local community.  Once we have the physical environment to equal the excellence of our human resources there will be no limit to what we can achieve.

There will be occasions over the coming months when you can have a say in the design of the new school.  You can see some of the ideas we have already had about what we want to achieve by referring back to my blog of 28 September entitled “The shape of things to come” and reading the attachment.
