Victory

I thought you would expect a few words about the Ofsted inspection which took place on Wednesday and Thursday.

Although we have received verbal feedback this remains confidential until the report is published.  What I can tell you, however, is how impressed the inspection team was with our pupils and staff.

Pupils were seen to be confident but polite and well mannered and teachers and other staff hard working and committed to the success of all the pupils.

I should like to thank those parents who managed to complete and return the questionnaires within the very short timescale that the new inspection regime allowed.  Although I am not privy to the contents of the individual responses I was told how very positive the overall picture was.

This is an exciting time for our school.  It would be easy to forget in an adrenaline driven Ofsted week that on Monday we received a visit from a member of the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) team.  The desperately needed new buildings are becoming an ever greater reality.

We are also drawing closer to knowing exactly how highly our year 11 pupils will achieve in this year’s GCSE examinations.  Every extra piece of information indicates that it is going to be a bumper year for results.  This will be a fitting return on everyone’s hard work.

It was Napoleon Bonaparte who said:

“Victory belongs to the most persevering.”
