The conference this year looked at the 2012 Olympic Games and how we can learn to spread the Olympic values across the
UK. From being a gold Young Ambassador, I and my colleague, Jessica, were promoted to platinum ambassadors, gaining even more responsibilities which we are very proud of. During the time at the conference we met many inspirational athletes such as Michelle Robinson, Chris Tomlinson, Claire Strange, Alistair McKean, Johnny Davis and Daniel Caines. These people are either ex Olympic or aspiring athletes so it was amazing to speak to them about their experiences. I had a great time attending the Young Ambassador conference this year. I was chosen to be a Young Ambassador in Year 10 because I had done so many leadership events and helped primary children in their school sport.
We split up into different workshops with an athlete and each learning different ways of communicating with other platinum Young Ambassadors as well as learning how to spread the Olympic Values to primary schools for the future. We took pictures with the Olympic torch that they brought in for us which made our day at the conference the best!
We ended the conference with the new Gold Young Ambassadors doing a dance competition which was outstanding! It was ALL such a great experience and we can’t wait for the Olympics to actually happen next year.
