The good weather - no rain - has been a real bonus for the new pitch construction. This week the consolidated ground has been covered with a pink stone aggregate. Large shafts have been dug and filled with concrete ready for the floodlight pylons. A run-off drainage pit has been completed and the earth mound seems enormous! We are ahead of schedule and maybe the completion date of 24 June is generous...
With nearly a hundred lorry loads brought onto the site it has been pleasing that the children have taken things in their stride and the construction workers have commented on the good behaviour of the pupils towards them. What is not so pleasing is the few pupils who have indulged in the dangerous activity of stone-throwing. When discovered they are being dealt with severely.
