NACE Challenge award

The Challenge Award is a self evaluation Framework which helps schools to audit and action plan for quality provision for able, gifted and talented pupils from Early Years to Key Stage 5.  The Framework is inclusive and context specific. The Challenge Award can be used equally by schools whatever their context or the overall levels of attainment that pupils may have.

The Framework was designed to enable schools to create an ethos of success for all pupils and to confidently identify and meet the needs of the most able pupils. In doing this a school develops quality provision to challenge all its pupils whatever their ability. The Framework was designed in such a way that it will bring coherence to school improvement initiatives and can be used flexibly to fit in with individual schools preferred development strategies.  There is also a clear focus on the type of CPD that develops teacher knowledge, confidence and practice.
